Ok ok ok. Hold the phones. I was running some errands at work and stopped by Sigfrieds to get some chocolate (best stuff in the world, I tell ya!). In the checkout line ahead of me, I saw something out of the corner of my eye.

Weirdest thing I tell you. Now I'm going to have dreams about the old man with monkey fingers. They even had the third joint!!!!

it's called marfan syndrome. it is a potentially fatal disease that affects many parts of the body.
Weren't you just saying that it looked weird, not that the person himself grossed you out?
Like it's their fault their thumbs look like that.
Just because its a disease doesn't mean that we can't have a reaction to it.
We're all still children of God, right?

missgayle, it is the unknown that frightens us. yet, we must still remember that a person owns those hands and continually copes with that disease. my comment was merely to inform not to accuse. read my first statement more carefully. nothing was implied. it was your own conscience that took offense and suffered guilt.

My mistake.
Although, I stand by my opinion that it is perfectly acceptable to have a reaction to something that is abnormal. It onle becomes cruel when we find pleasure or comedy in another's situation.
