This past weekend my parents and I made a trip to Houston for a long-time friend's wedding. Our families were great friends when we were living in South America. I hadn't seen them since they came to my wedding five years ago, and now Lisa, my first friend from the seventh grade in Colombia, was getting married. I went sans child and husband for several reasons, but mainly because we didn't think it was worth the money to fly both of us out there so BSC and I could chase Nathan around a wedding.
So we stayed in a hotel near the Galleria, which provided my mom and I hours of entertainment. We played for hours in Neiman Marcus trying on shoes priced at well over $1000. I was SO tempted to buy several pairs. But I decided that my marriage was worth more than a few pairs of shoes. I did however score some amazing deals. I purchased my first pair of designer jeans for $60, originally priced at $300. I also purchased a super-cute sweater for $30 originally priced at $200. Go me!
So, here are some pictures of the wedding.

I love finding great bargains! My husband gets so embarassed because I always have to tell people how much I paid for everything. Glad you had fun.
I sent you the design. Just wanted to make sure you got it!
Nice bargains! And I love the idea of trying on ridiculously expensive shoes. Too bad Abilene is somewhat limited in shopping options.
Emily, Jacob and I were in Houston that same weekend visiting her family!! Man, I wish I would have known. If you would only blog about trips before you take them! :)
That wedding looks fun. I'm jealous of your finds. Esp with the jeans. Boo. I won't be jean shopping for a while though. Sad.
How fun! Is that real money?
I doubt it, but if it was, maybe you could have gone back to Neimans and splurged on those $1,000 shoes.
Yes, that is real money. During the bride and groom's first dance, both sets of parents threw stacks of cash at them.
Hello from our honeymoon in Spain! It's our last night and we are exhausted, hence, dishing out for the internet on tv in our hotel. haha. We are so glad you and your parents made it to Houston for our wedding. It meant a lot to us. We hope you had as much fun as we did. More fun than our parents throwing cash at us, was our good friend Kavan then throwing napkins at us to get involved. ha. We'll post pictures when we get back! Much love, Lisa and Elias
lori, for real. you look HOT.
