Portland, how I love thee!

Wow, wow, wow! I must tell you all that BSC and I had the most amazing time in Portland. I won't detail it day by day, like I was originally going to do. I'll leave that to BSC, who has already started that on one of his many blogs: FLSLC

Portland was awesome. From the moment we arrived in the city, we fell in love with it. Downtown has so much character, so much diversity and a plethora of amazing places to eat (I will not divulge just how much I ate). In terms of the food quality, Papa Hayden was my favorite eating establishment. The dinner was absolutley amazing. But the desserts, oh my oh my, the desserts were so incredible! My unfortunate fate with horrible service has finally paid off - BSC and I each a received a free dessert from Papa Haydens.

We visited several gardens, saw a really cool, old mansion, got a massage, and met up with some friends who we'd never met in person before. I must say, it was the weirdest feeling hanging out with people who I feel like I know in so much detail, yet I'd never met in person. So here's to Tabitha, Rebecca Marie, and Beanna: You made our trip so much fun!!! Thank you for showing us the "real Portland," for giving us an entertaining night on the town (with scary bathrooms and all), and for accepting Sooner fans into your Duck-territory tailgate. You are all examples of true friendship. If you ever find yourselves in Utah, you've got a place to stay and friends to hang with. I don't know if we could show you as good of a time that you showed us, but we'll sure try ... even if we have to raid BSC's Sooner bar in the process.

BSC and I have decided to make it a point to return to Oregon and see all the things we were unable to see. We may even consider moving there when the time is right to skidaddle (is that how you spell it?) from Utah. It really felt like it was a place we could live and be happy. Now, I must return to reality and get back to work. Enjoy these pictures and pretend you're in Portland ...

The Rose Gardens

seriously, we all ADORE you two...the city is still buzzing with BSC/loriloo excitement and afterglow.

we're all sitting around sharing stories and trying to one-up each other with our various carter experiences and charades.

and, just so you know, we've all started begging God to make you move here. you'd be coming into a city that loves you!

Oh - it's beautiful.. and that rose is just spectacular. Actually all the pics are. I'm so glad you all had a wonderful time.

Everytime I think of Oregon I picture David Lynch saying Orrr-eeee-gone in the beginning of Twin Peaks.

You look pretty darned cute in that last pic - not gigantically pregnant like you described in your last post!
