Vacation and Vacuums

I love this week. I love that I only have to work two days this week. Wanna know why? BSC and I get to go on VACATION! Yay for us! You know you're jealous ... you know you would just love to tag along. But sadly, my suitcase can only fit so much or else BSC would insist we bring the cats along too.

We're going to Portland for a few days of rest and relaxation and of course to watch BSC's beloved Sooners kick the living snot out of the Ducks (sorry RM, I gotta go with what the hubby says). This will be the first time I have been to a Sooner football game, so I'm pretty excited. The only problem is that I will have to force my now round belly into my pre-pregnancy (and only) Sooner shirt. *Sigh* I guess I'll just have to look fat for the day.

I've also never been to Portland, so I'm excited to see the sights and meet some people, people, people, who I feel like I already know. It also doesn't hurt that I got a steal of a deal on a five star hotel in downtown Portland. I was born to live in luxury! So, blogging will continue next week. I will be sure to post pictures and such upon our return.

Man oh man, I think I've just died and gone to heaven. By now you all must know what a clean freak I am. Ever since becoming pregnant my clean freakiness has reached all new level of freakdom. It's the "nesting phase" gone out of control. I was finally able to convince BSC to let me purchase a Dyson. I have heard nothing but amazing things about these vacuums and I've been dying to get one of my own. They are expensive, yes, but if I can find a vacuum that actually cleans all of the cat hair out of our carpet each time I use it and not clog up, then it is worth the extra pennies.

So on Saturday I took my 20% off coupon to Bed Bath and Beyond and purchased the Dyson Animal, made especially for animal hair. Plus, it's purple ... so much better than the other yellow color. Anywho, I had just vacuumed with the old vacuum not two days earlier. I wanted to test this baby out and see what it could really do. Now, I don't know if this says that we're living in filth, or that our old vacuum was really THAT bad. But I FILLED the canister from the carpet on our main floor (remember also that this carpet is brand new). I couldn't believe it. The amount of dust, dirt, an cat hair collected was unbelievable! So, I love my Dyson, I love it so so so much. I would highly recommend that everyone purchase such a machine. Yay for living in a clean house!

1) jealous you get to go on vacation and meet up with your friends! I still have plans...

2) totally jealous of the dyson!! My husband seems to think any old hoover will do, but I know better. Someday, I too will live in a clean house!

i would love to spend a few days in portland. I guess denver will have to do for now. It's been raining a lot and the weather has been mild. That's kind of like Portland in my experience.

We also love our Dyson as well. I shudder to think of the filth in which we lived before the purchase. It never ceases to amaze me how much crud it picks up every time we vacuum.

Congrats on both the vacation and the vacuum.

we miss you guys.

tell bsc that i get to go to the Great American Beer Festival on the last weekend of the month. He's welcome to come and join me if he's interested.

oh my dear Lord - if I told you what a clean freak phase I went through with Faith.. I would scrub from one end to the other - and if one particle was contaminated, I would freak out and start from scratch. I also purchased my Dyson during this time.

Eventually I realized she was drinking dirty bath water and chewing on dog toys, licking the side of the bathtub..

I gave up the clean cart and actually let the child touch a surface. But until then I made EVERYONE insane. I literally lost several friends over it - I'm not kidding. Called some people filth pigs and kicked them out. They finally got over it - but wow.

whew. Have fun on your trip - enjoy the filth, semen and feces found even in five star hotels.. the dirtiest places on EARTH!!!

:)

i love cleaning!! my parents have a dyson and i have been eyeing it ever since they purchased it.

one of my most favorite activities is to bleach the shower and tub....how weird is that?!

Ok, when I come can I play with the dyson?
I have wanted one FOREVER - of course that shouldn't be surprising because we are just alike.
Even on my hardwood floors I bet I would fill the cannister!!!
