Yep, it's true.
I'm knocked up.
Soooooo ... I just wanted to let everyone know that Brandon and I are expecting our first child! I have known since March that I was pregnant, but we decided to keep it a secret until my first doctor appointment (which was today). I've been bursting at the seams to let everyone know, but we wanted to make sure everything was ok until we shared the good news.
I am due in late November, and right now I am 10 1/2 weeks along. We got to see the tiny baby for the first time with an ultrasound this morning. Brandon was beaming and I started crying (must have been those darn pregnancy hormones). We were able to see its heart beating and see it move around a bit. It looked like he/she was trying to do the backstroke ... hmmmm.
As for me, I'm feeling the typical first trimester woes - nausea, extremely tired, and very emotional. I'm ready for the second trimester. I'm sick of gagging at the thought of food. It's very frustrating to be so hungry, yet nothing sounds good. I'm not showing yet, though my pants are getting tighter.
I'll be sure to keep everyone up to date on everything. It's weird to think that I'm a mom already.
I wanted to post the ultrasound picture on my blog, but they ran out of paper at the doctor's office. Who runs out of paper??? Anywho, I'm now accepting applications and bribes for baby names.

Congratulations to you both! I am so happy! I can't wait to tell Eric! I already forwarded your email to my family and his family, they'll be thrilled.
As for names, I compensate for the fact that I can't have kids yet by making entire lists of names that I love ( I know, I'm a sick-o), so I have all kinds of websites and books to suggest! Endless fun!
I CANNOT believe this was a secret from EVERYONE. Come on. You told somebody - fess up!
You've even been lying on your blog!
"Sick" - yeah morning sick!
I said this in the e-mail, but I'm going to start making baby booties. I bet you didn't know about my hiddle crochet talent. I gave my fourth grade teacher baby booties when she had a kid. I saw him in Odessa this summer and felt way old.
YAY!
We told our parents and siblings. So total, 8 people knew.
And I would just like to say that I did not lie on my blog. I really was sick from something else. It was not morning sickness. The doctor said it was probably something I ate. So, I didn't lie ... I just left out a detail or two.
And also, we didn't tell anyone that we were trying. If people asked, we would straight up lie and say something like "Heck no, we've got tons of time for kids, it'll be another couple of years."
So, this pregnancy was a planned-surprise. We were trying, but didn't expect it to happen on the first try.
Congratulations Lori! And yes, I am officially a sap. I teared up when Jessi and Stan told me they were expecting and when I just read your blog!
There's just something about knowing your friends (and brothers/sisters in Christ) have been blessed with such an exciting event about to happen in their lives.
yeah, it's basically a wonderful and fabulous thing. and i'm glad you kept the secret for awhile...it's fun to have special things like that with the hubby. can't wait to see your belly grow! i guess we'll be seeing pictures of more loafers and flats instead of stilletos for awhile now, right?
Congratulations! I can't wait to see pictures!
man...I had a feeling you were pregnant...I've been meaning to ask you for weeks now:) Congrats you guys. Man...you are now my second acu couple friends expecting...I'm starting to feel the pressure...
Congrats! I was wondering if that "sickness" you were blogging about earlier was due to a parasite living inside your uterus. It's true, they suck the life out of you...
and this is just the beginning!
(ok, ok, i take it back...it is worth every gag, every tear, every sleepless night; I'm just jealous you're pregnant and I'm not!)
are you serious??!?!!? so, does this mean that a night of debauchery and drinking at the tavernacle is off? well, out of the question for you anyway... you can always be our DD.
congratulations, loo! you're fitting right in with the utah way of life!
by the way, i think that nytro is a great middle name. oh, and when you start that "nesting" phase where you'll clean everything in sight, would you mind making a trip up to Ogden and hitting my house? benny will be very appreciative!
OMGOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Congratulations!!! How exciting for both of you. Plenty of new and fun stuff to blog about, that's for sure!!
And cute baby shoes - baby shoes are the cutest ever!!! My favorite - I hope we get a new baby shoe pic ever post!!!

who runs out of paper and says "oh well, you can't have your first baby pictures."!?!?!?! what the!? i would have been livid.
oh, and i'd like to say congratulations again to both of you!
Congrats!
Congratulations! I haven't checked in with your blog for several weeks. I talked to your dad this week and he did'nt say anything. Whats up with that. He's a butt head. I'm really happy for both of you. We haven't forgot about a trip to see your house - probably in the next couple of months.
Look what happens when I go away for a few days! WHOO HOO! That is so awesome! I am happy for y'all. I certainly think that R*belle is not only catchy but a nice conversation piece. ;)
