Here we have a lovely room with a surprising combination of styles from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Isn't it gorgeous with the orange/brown shag carpeting and army green drapes made out of burlap? My favorite part is the wood-grained wallpaper. As if wood paneling wasn't cheesy enough, they had to get wallpaper to replicate it.

Now, I know all of our men out there (wait, I don't think any men actually read my blog) are about to gag and blow chunks at the sight of this ultra-girlie room. But hey, I get to have a girlie room if BSC gets to have a freakin' bar! What was done: All wallpaper was removed and replaced with green paint. The molding was painted white to match the trim and ceiling and the upper part of the wall was painted pink. New carpet and new shutters were also added to the room. The quilt on the bed was a high-school graduation present from my mom. She made it for me during my entire senior year, and I took it off to college with me. I love it so much. Some of the fabrics in the quilt were from dresses she made for my sister and I when we were little, so it has some history in it. Every time she sees the quilt she tells me that it's her favorite one. I think she's hinting that she wants it back. What you don't see in the room: the closet doors were painted white to match the trim and ceiling, the entry to the room has a cross-stitch my mom made me, and my wedding bouquet is dried and sitting under a glass dome on the night stand with my tiara and BSC's boutennier. I want a sewing machine for my birthday, and that is what the white desk is waiting for. This room has already hosted Gayle and Kent (not together, but during separate visits).

This room looks great! Your house is awesome! I bet your so proud because it's all you and BSC's doing!!!
Actually, just me, it was really just Loo's work. I just ripped down wallpaper, essentially.
Good job! I like the look, and yes you DO get a girly room if he gets a bar. Plus, even men like staying in well appointed guest bedrooms.
I love quilts with a story - and that is a very special one for SURE!!
You will get no argument over a pink room from me, my whole place is pink. Of course the only man in my life is Nate Nate and I had his balls removed!
Holli - Hahahahahahahahaha! My cats don't have their balls either.
sister, if we can't have an ultra girlie guest room, we are not doing our job as women. mine is feminine all over.
Alright, seriously. You've got to stop this madness. You're making me look bad. I've had paint for my daughter's room for over a YEAR, and I don't have a date in mind to finish it!
I stayed in that room!! : ) Except then, it didn't have a door!
wow that looks great, shag sucks we had bright red and bright orange in our old house
when ben and i bought our house last summer, he just up and decided that the third bedroom ought to be his "sports room." it wasn't so much a discussion, just informing me of what was to come. when i suggested that this wasn't very fair...ben proceeded to tell me i could have full reign of the ENTIRE rest of the house. i thought that was perfectly fair.
only, the further we got into moving in and decorating, his oppinions on what should go where and what should be bought got louder and louder, until he had practically "decorated" the whole house. leaves me wondering....where's my "American Idol" room?!?!
your room is pretty but we need a new post
KOJIE COLORS!!!?!?!?!?!?!?
