What you've all been waiting for ...

Yep, it's here. It's finally here. I know you've all waited so very patiently to see what we've done to our house. (Drum roll please) The first pictures of the house will be posted below. Here's how this is going to work:
I'm going to post "before" pictures and "after" pictures of each room as a seperate post. Currently, the only room in the house that is totally done is the living room. I will continue posting pictures as rooms are completed. It shouldn't be long until the majority of the rooms are done. As always, comments are welcome but just be warned that if you say anything mean about my living room, know that you made me cry. It's taken four hard months for us to get to this point so if you don't like it, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. So, let's get started.

LIVING ROOM
Before:

Notice the lovely decor and stained carpet left by the previous owners. The little shelf next to the couch was BUILT-IN to the wall. The entry-way tile was ugly, old and terra-cotta colored. It took my uncle's jack-hammer a full day to pull up all those tiles. It left the entire main-floor covered in a layer of dust for the next week. THAT WAS FUN! Also lovely were the sheer pink drapes, which no longer looked pink but more of a dirty-brown color from years of wear and tear.

After:

What we did: Painted the walls with a suede paint. Put in new carpet, new entry-way tile and painted the ceilings and trim with a fresh coat of white paint. Installed plantation shutters and new drapes. We also demolished the ugly little built-in shelf and painted the coat-closet door to match the trim and ceiling. The striped part of the wall you see in the first picture is part of the dining room. That room will come next. Because you can't see the kick-ass tile I picked out for the entry-way, here's a close-up:

Hmmm, notice anything wrong with the tile? Notice that the grout is cracking and coming up from the floors? Yep, stupid tile guy won't come fix it. Bastard!

Brand: Aerosoles
Name: Suit
Color: Pink and black suede
Size: 8

Lori - it looks amazing! This gives me great hope for this summer when Eric and I will likely be moving into our own fixer-upper. Congrats on a lovely room!

Ah, there's something so lovely about a freshly, (and correctly), decorated room. Good job. I so should have posted befores with my dinning room too. Next time, next time, though.

Thanks so much everyone! Even though some of you may actually not like it and just lied because I threatened to cry, I appreciate the lies nonetheless (love using that word).

Has anyone found the hidden Simba (one of my cats) in any of the pictures yet?

I bet you just love walking around your new livingroom in those shoes! (sorry, it's the first thing that came to my mind) Actually, no nevermind. I'll not say anything dirty.

Let's just say I love, LOVE the new room!
