Scary Weekend

I would like you all to note that I have decided it is my husband's main purpose in life to torture me. Let me explain:

Our weekend was filled with the usual: Spending time at our new house painting, sanding, cleaning, destroying stuff, etc. After spending a full day (for me it was 9:00am to 6:00pm, for him it was 2:30pm to 6:00pm because of the Sooner football game ... GOT TO GET TV AT THE NEW HOUSE PRONTO!) slaving away on our new house, preparing to move in this coming weekend, we decided it was time to treat ourselves to a nice dinner and a movie. When we pulled into the garage at my parents house to change for dinner, we noticed that the passenger side door to my mom's car was wide open. Weird, she's out of town, I wonder why the door's open. Oh well.

I hadn't eaten anything all day, so the cosmopolitan I ordered before dinner went straight to my head. Whooooo hooooo, fun times! Anywho, we had a lovely dinner at Johnny Carinos and headed towards home so we could get me some coffee (no, NOT so I could sober up, how dare you think that of me!) and to rent a movie. We decided renting a movie from McDonalds was the cheapest way to go ... mainly because it was free (what can I say, hubby's got connections!). I sat in the car to shield myself from the freezing rain, while Brandon rented a movie from the McDonalds Red Box. He got back in the car and as he tossed the DVD into my lap he said "Sorry honey, but they were out of everything else." I already sensed the evil spouting from the DVD in my lap and as I looked down the fear and horror was realized when I read "The Ring 2" as the title.

Have you ever seen a movie that shook you to the core? When I watched The Ring, I had nightmares for a year. I don't care how stupid and cheesy you think that movie was, but it seriously messed with my head. So why in the world would my husband, knowing this movie freaked me out beyond belief, rent part two? WHY, OH WHY, WOULD HE DO THAT? Just to torture me, that's why! So we watched the movies. I was freaked out. All the memories from the first movie came flooding back. I crawled into bed, pulled the covers way up to my face and held on tight to Brandon's arm. I was scared. Then, out of nowhere, we heard noises coming from upstairs. Why are there noises? Both cats were downstairs with us, my parents are out of town, there should be no noises coming from upstairs!!! So what does Brandon do? He grabs his bat from under the bed and LEAVES ME ALONE IN THE BEDROOM while he searches the house for an intruder. Again with the torture. The five minutes he was gone lasted an eternity. My mind played tricks on me the whole time. I swear I saw that freaky-looking girl, Samara, standing in the corner of my bedroom, with her long black hair covering her nasty rotting face.

He came back to the bedroom after thoroughly searching the house and said he didn't find anyone. Didn't sleep that night. Was way too scared. Anyone else have a stupid scary movie like that? Or do I just get freaked out way too easily?

** House update: Basement flooded. After all the water from Friday, you'd think we'd be done with the flooding. First my parents basement, then my desk, now my new house basement. When will it end? I think it's Samara coming to get me.

I don't watch scary movies anymore for that very reason - they scare me for days, weeks or MONTHS afterwards...

...and I live alone, I don't have anyone to comfort me when I'm scared.

No, ma'am, no scary movie watching for me!!

I'm with missgayle, no thanks. I heard rumors of The Ring, and I'm scared because I HEARD about that freaking movie from other people.

I have a security system. that's my new safety. (and, um, your mother's car door?? anything?)

Hey! Yeah, Loo, you left us hanging with the mention of your mom's car door.

We need that part of story to be resolved! :)

You know, I think there should be some kind of warning for even previous for movies in the theater. When The Exorcism of Emily Rose came out, the previews scared me to bad I wanted to go home and cower under my bed... Not even kidding. Especially the thing with that kid's eyes... FREAKY!

i hate scary movies, but sometimes i'm stupid and watch them anyway. we watched The Grudge because we heard that it was really scary. i didn't think it was that scary. in fact, i found myself thinking how stupid it was. that was before i went to bed and then woke up screaming because i dreamed about the freaky girl. CREEPY. yea, i don't do scary shows.

Ok, sorry I didn't conclude about the car door thing. But there's nothing to conclude. We called my mom in Denver and asked if she had gotten anything out of her car before she left for the airport, maybe that's why the door was left open, she just forgot to shut it. Nope. She didn't get anything out of her car. Weird. I'm still convinced someone's hiding in this house. I'm home sick today and I'm alone and can hear footsteps coming from upstairs. I refuse to go investigate. I have the window unlocked beside me incase I need to make a quick escape.

HOLY CRAP! Word verification (NO JOKE): leaive
I think I just might go into work today. I'm freaked out being in this house alone. It's telling me to leave.

About the car door: Mom was vacuuming, and she does remember opening that door to get more light inside the car. So she did leave it open. No ghosts.
And I LOVE scary movies! They scare the crap out of me, but I am sick since I enjoy doing that to myself. The Ring scared the $&*# out of me, but I still can't wait to see the 2nd one. And my word verification is: exsrc, which makes me think of The Exorcist, the scariest movie ever!

Nici - I got "exercise" out of your word verification. I think blogger is telling you to work-out so you don't have any more "I've fallen and I can't get up" episodes! Hahahaha! I'm soooo funny :)

Tabitha - Don't watch that movie! You need to take that movie and burn it, so the evil doesn't exist in your house anymore. Burn that movie!

Alan and I had a HUGE fight about the The Ring!
This was when I lived with Britt in UP, and she was gone that weekend. I had no pugs yet, and I knew I would not sleep.
I BEGGED him to stay with me that night cause I was so freaked out. He wouldn't!!! I guess something at Chapel soaked in, because he positively refused.
In fact, I'm still mad about that.
I'm kicking him out of bed when I get home.

Man I will never see that movie.

I can not handle scary movies. I use to be able to watch them but once I got married no thank you. I saw Sixth sense and freaked out. That was the last scary movie I have seen.

Sorry about your basement flooding. That sucks. Hope all is well now.
