What a feeling! What an amazing feeling it is to have a home. Not just a house, but a home. I've got to admit that I haven't been very excited about my house for the past few weeks, because I all I saw when I walked into this house was work: touch-up here, sand there, redo this, redo that, etc, etc. Finally, the day we moved in, the house has turned into a home. Even though there are boxes of stuff strewn about the floor, no pictures have been hung, we can't use the main bathroom upstairs, the kitchen isn't quite finished, we have no privacy because the blinds still haven't been installed, we can't use the washer because of a major leak, can't use the dryer because there's no vent, and our heater isn't working, it's still a home, and it's my home.
I promise I'll post pictures of before and after as soon as I get more stuff put away. I'm amazed at the transformation, and even more amazed that Brandon and I stuck with it and got it all done.
SIGH of relief
By the way, we're still missing some stuff from the move. So if anyone sees Brandon's glasses, my guest bedroom pillows, some of my cleaning stuff, and some hardware for my bed, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
Also - Am I a Scrooge if I don't want to decorate for Christmas? I can't find my regular stuff, much less my Christmas decorations!
Talked to my parents last night and they have already started redoing the basement. They were playing ping pong on their brand new ping pong table. I think it's a hint to everyone in the family that the basement is no longer open for room & board.

I have your guest bedroom pillows right here. Wanna come get them?
Ok, fine. You're right, I'm trying to trick you into visiting me in Texas!!
I am not very clever.
i fear even shopping for christmas this year . . . usually christmas is my favorite thing, but this year i just am not feeling it . . . i found some extra bed hardware yesterday . . . how could that have gotten all the way over here from your move?
Looks like the only thing still missing is the cleaning stuff.
Tabitha Jane has your bed hardware, Jimps has BSC's glasses, and I have your pillows...
Lots of mysteries were solved today!
Congrats on your home. I bet it feels great to have your own place. I can not wait to see pictures.
No need to decorate. Most of our stuff is in the garage we rent. I told Gabe I really don't want to decorate this year because in about a month after christmas we will be moving into the house. Plus we don't have any book cases and anything else to put any decorations up. I put all that in storage to empty the apartment a little bit. We might just have our Christmas stockings and one or two little things to make it feel like Christmas.
Congratulations! Isn't it a great feeling to actually live in your own house?
Man, I was hoping to move into your parent's basement!
