And yet again

So, my lovely husband tagged me to list what I've been listening to. I'm not much of a music critic, so I usually will listen to just about anything. I've even been known to listen to Sports Talk Radio with Brandon.

Before I get into that, let me just tell everyone that I had no idea that the pain of excersizing could be delayed a few days. On Wednesday I did an hour of lower body work-outs with the trainer. These came much easier to me than the upper body work-out that totally rendered my arms useless for the next three days (I never use my arms for anything worthwhile at all). So I was pleasantly surprised to wake up on Thursday to find that my legs did not hurt at all. In fact, they felt great! And I thought to myself very smugly that those 13 years of ballet really paid off. Whoa there bucko, let's not be too hasty about this. I spoke way too soon. I woke up this morning to the most hellacious sound of my alarm clock and roll out of bed like usual. This time my legs did not catch me and I fell to the floor with a thump that I thought might wake my husband in his blissful state of slumber. I find that he's still asleep, so I pull myself up off the floor and realize that I can stand, but not walk. My calves are in what seems to be a permanent state of paralysis. Each time I take a step a lighting bolt of pain shoots through my legs and my calves shout at me "Take that you sluggish piece of dog poo! That's for making me do all that work on Wednesday after five years of complete sedentary laziness." Let me publicly apologize to my calves. I did not mean to push you so hard. Never will I torture you like that again. For those of you who live in Salt Lake City: if you see a tall, blonde/red haired girl, with really cute black and white shoes attempting to hobble around the mall during lunch time, don't feel sorry for me. I'm not disabled, my calves just hate me for the moment. If you see me fall to the floor in pain, feel free to help me up so I can do the process all over again.

Now, as for the music I listen to:

1. Right now I have Josh Groban in the player. He gives me a sense of calm in my office which often times is a very tense environment.
2. Classical/Instrumental - I'm usually forced to listen to some sort of instrumental music at work because my boss won't listen to anything else. So Brandon found some pretty cool stuff for me to listen to like Southwest Trilogy and the Tchaikovsky Ballet Suites, very cool.
3. 90's alternative - been reminiscing about high school with my Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Weezer CD's lately.
4. Soundtracks - I'm a big fan of soundtracks because they give such a variety. Some of my favs are "City of Angels," "Chicago," "Can't Hardley Wait," and "Romeo and Juliet."
5. I also like a lot of the classic 70's music like Simon & Garfunkel. Good music that we all know the words to and can easily sing along.

So there you have it. Excuse me now. I have to be away from my computer for about an hour as I try to make it up the stairs for a sip of water.

I'm totally with you on the soundtracks list! Romeo and City of Angels bring back some fond memories... (sigh)

And I'll never tire of the 70's; Simon and Garfunkel rock (as do the Eagles). I had my satellite radio programmed to the 70's FOREVER...or so it seemed.

I totally know what you mean by delayed pain. I had the same thing after working out to a video. The pain didn't hit for two days!

i LOVE the city of angles soundtrack! i think it was the first cd i ever owned . . . even before i had gotten a cd player i think . . . my friend bought it for me for my 16th birthday or something like that.
i still have it. but it is pretty scratched up. it wasn't until years later that i actually got around to watching the flick.

i also like the romeo and juliet soundtrack . . . and pearl jam and weezer . . . geesh. why do i have this feeling that if we should ever meet, we might actually get along?
