Things to do before I die ...

So, there are lots of things I would like to do before I kick the bucket. Some are very un-original, but I actually plan to do these things one day. This isn't just an "I wish" list. So, read the list and tell me yours ... even all of you "lurkers" out there who never post comments. I need your input/ideas.

1. Skydiving - I know, I know, everyone says this. But I really would love to go skydiving given the opportunity. I would never go bunjee jumping, but skydiving I would do.
2. Visit all the places I've lived one more time- When Brandon and I are old and retired, and have time and money to spend, I want to take him to the places I've lived:
~Bakersfield, CA (not very exciting, but my birthplace nonetheless)
~Adelaide, Australia (first memories of an emu eating out of my hand)
~Muscat, Oman (first real memories, lived there for 5 years and had a wonderful time)
~Bogota, Colombia (oh the memories, i would actually know my way around the city still)
3. Build my own house - by the time I can afford this I will know exactly what I want and need in a house. I want to build on some acreage so Brandon and I can get some horses.
4. I want to have kids - this is a given, but it is a lifetime goal of mine and the reason it made the list. Ideally I would have one boy and one girl. I would also require that my children have children themselves. Afterall, the only point in having kids is so you can get grandkids, right?
5. Financial Stability - This is something that a lot of people never really attain. I want to be stable enough to give my children things they will need later on in life: after-school activities, world travel, and a college education. Too much to ask? No?
6. Cooking School - It's always been a dream of mine to attend culinary school. Cooking is a love of mine, I want to be in the kitchen with out using a cookbook.
7. Dance again - I for thirteen years I danced ballet. Within those years included classes in tap and jazz. I would love to get up on toe once more and perform. Just one more recital. I never thought I'd miss it as much as I do.
8. Own original art - I would like to own one piece of original and fabulous art. It doesn't necessarily have to come from a well-known artist, but I would love to go into a gallery and buy a piece off the wall.
9. Go to the Kentucky Derby - I stole this one from my sister. It would be so fun for me, my mom and my sister to get designer outfits (hats and all - gotta follow tradition) and be a guest a the Kentucky Derby. Mommy! I want a pony!
10. Start my own business - I've always wanted to own a small business. I haven't decided what I would do. Maybe I would combine my love for shoes and cooking and open a shoe store/bistro. Maybe I could open and "organize your home" business. Maybe I should open a home accessories store. Hmmmm, things to think about.

What are your wishes?

Great blog idea.

I've always wanted to swim with dolphins before I die.

I would also like to flash my boobs at Mardi Gras while their still perky enough to be appreciated.

I got to swim with dolphins on my honeymoon ... AMAZING, I highly recommend it. Expensive, but worth every penny. I haven't been to Mardi Gras yet, my sister has though and she's got plenty of boob to flash for the both of us.

You took most of my answers! Yes, I did the Mardi Gras thing, and it was totally worth it!
I want to own art, go the kentucky derby with a cool hat, have a house, kids (i know i have kid, but i would like it to be plural), money, etc. I would also like to see the Great Wall of China, go to Italy, cage dive with Great White Sharks, and go back to school and earn another degree in Art History

Oooh, that reminds me of another one. I want to go back to school for my masters ... maybe in communication. Or maybe I'd like to go to law school. Great whites????? NO WAY would I do that. Being in the ocean is scary enough. When I went scuba diving we saw all sorts of scary things and that was good enough for me ... weirdo ... you want to swim with things that want to eat you!

I would:
1) finish school and get my license to be a massage therapist.
2) use my massage therapy to pay for more schooling and study to become a naturopathic physician or a nutritionist (only that means i have to start eating better!)
3) take dance lessons (bellydance, ballet, swing, salsa, whatever!) that means i need to have TIME to do this
4) join a community choir or something so i can sing again. i really miss being apart of a group of singers and making lovely music esp in latin!
5) go to europe with just my backpack for an indefinite period of time.
6) have kids (someday). 2 or 3. one boy and one girl at least. i want to have them with a midwife and i want my husband to be able to take paternal leave when they are born. i want to have them without any pain killer . . . . eeee, scary! but i wanna try!

loo: you should totally open your own business! here is a link to get you excited about starting your own professional organizing business. i subscribe to their newsletter currently and sometimes i am actually inspired to get more organized. :) have fun!

Loo you aren't missing anything on the whole law school thing. I have spent the past 6 months putting in over 100 hours of work a week. I hear its just a Baylor thing though. But you would definitely be smart enough to make it through.

Thanks Nikki! Maybe I just miss school after being out for two years. And, I realized that Dr. Marler's Com. Law class was one of my favorite courses I took ... how weird is that?

That was one of my favorites I took too. Unfortunately, not much like law school. Maybe the grass is just always greener on the other side. When you are in school, you want out and when you aren't you want back in. - nikki

Lori, I didn't know you lived in those places. They are sort of exotic. (Columbia, Australia, Oman) Well, maybe exotic isn't the right word. That's awesome!

i want to have dreadlocks and live in europe! we tried to plant a non-silly church but it takes too much work and commitment so people stopped coming . . .

LoriLoo310 said...

What do you mean by "non-silly" and where did you plant this church? I bet going to a Tabitha-started church would be quite fun!

non-silly means non-fake, non-shallow, non-surface, non-hypocritical, non-judgemental.
it means open, honest conversation. eating together, sharing lives, being real. allowing people to ask questions. informal, relaxed, all voices are heard, discussions are relevant. no preaching per se. it was in my living room . . . but it fizzled. churches like that take a lot of work on EVERYONE's part (that's the beauty of it you see) but people are lazy . . . rather than invest, they chose to go somewhere more consumeristic.
