Aging

I've come to the conclusion that the reason we age is because of our kids. Sleep deprivation causes bags under the eyes. Stress causes wrinkles. Constant worry causes brain malfunctions. Screaming children cause hearing loss. Put that all together and you're bound to look slightly older than you did in your 20's.

Nathan hasn't even come to his first birthday yet. I shouldn't be aging this fast, should I? Well, apparently I am.

Most of you who read this blog know me. You know how old I am. Those of you who don't know me have seen pictures of me and probably have a guess at my age.

Take a guess at how old people think I am.

Go on, guess.

Got your number?

For the record, I am twenty six years old. I was recently told that I look THIRTY FREAKING FIVE. Not that 35 is old, I don't think it's old at all. But when someone tells me that I look almost ten years older than I really am, it's a bit bothersome. And when people constantly think I'm older than my OLDER sister, I start to wonder.

Maybe it's time to get some work done. A face lift here, a chemical peel there. Or maybe I just need a break. A time to rejuvinate my body and soul to find my inner-youth. Any ideas?

I mean really, REALLY!!! I don't mind looking my age. When I'm 40 and people think I look 40, I'll be ok with that. But when I'm 26 and people think I'm 35, it's a bit depressing.

Excuse me while I go get some Botox.

I used to love it when people thought I looked older.....when I was in highschool! Now I know I look my age, 24, if not a few years older and it depresses me, too.

I think one aspect of having kids that makes you look older is that every spare penny goes to them. I just recently started buying clothes for my job and it feels so nice to wear something that a: isn't maternity and b: actually fits the me that is 2 sizes bigger than I was pre-munchkins.

..::debating whether I should say this::..

People constantly think I am 21. And I am 25.

Wait, did I just say that? :)

Just kidding, Loo.

If it matters, I TOTALLY and COMPLETELY disagree with whoever said that!

There is no way you look 35! Maybe you should consider the source that said it??? Have you ever seen the show 10 Years Younger on TLC?? I am thinking that might be fun to go on when I am 50 and want to look 40!!

Wow, you do not look 35. That's crazy talk. That would bother me too.

Just like it bothers me when people as me if I am having my baby any day now. My response?
"In three months it will be any day now." THAT is depressing too.

35!!?! No freakn way. I'm sorry, but as one of the most beautiful people I know... You can not possibly look that old. Who said this?? AND.. maybe they weren't refering to your looks, but how mature you are. You carry yourself well. THAT is something to be proud of.

You do NOT look 35. At all. The people who said it are probably old and have bad eyesight. :)

Nathan is adorable by the way!!

I notice that I'm viewed as "more responsible" (aka OLD) when I dress the part-- a button up long sleeve shirt and slacks.

When I wear my jeans w/ a hole in the knee and my long sleeve tee from Target--I'm back to being young again!!

not sure how you dress but use it as an excuse to go shopping!! ; )

So, people are regularly surprised that i am in my 20s also...just turned 29 and they still think I am in college--UNDER 20! I don't think either option feels like a compliment. People are silly. Maybe no one should ever guess ages...that is like guessing a pant size--it can't end well.
