Yes, I'm still here, still breathing and moving. I'm not sure that consitutes being alive, moreso in a zombie-like state. I have officially become a mom. Yes, I know that happened over a month ago, but now that it's been a few weeks the title has really set in. It's hard to get dressed in the morning, much less take a shower. So if you see a homeless-looking lady wandering the aisles of Target with a super-cute 4 week old baby boy, that's me. Yes I'm alive (though it may not look like it). I've heard the first six weeks are the hardest with a new baby ... 1 1/2 weeks to go, then maybe a break? Maybe? Please? Maybe I will attempt to put on some makeup or even brush my hair, perhaps a razor might even touch my legs. It's New Years Eve today and I will celebrate the occasion by attempting to take a nap and do some laundry. All of my clothes are drenched in spit-up and explosive baby poo. Maybe some of you veteran moms can answer this question: How in the world does spit-up land directly down my shirt, without touching my shirt at all? And why is it that baby poo gets EVERYWHERE? When I find baby poo under my fingernails an hour after changing a dirty diaper, I know I must be doing something wrong.
So yes, I am still alive and kicking. I try to read blogs as often as I can, but it seems that changing dirty diapers and cleaning spit-up are on the top of my priority list these days. None of you have been forgotten!
More picutres for you to enjoy:
All of the cousins in their Christmas PJs on Christmas morning up at the grandparent's house.
BSC with Nathan, Ciara and Caden all dressed in their OU garb. Such a proud daddy and uncle!
The boy cousins are instant friends (with aunt Nici in the middle). Caden (8 months old) is fascinated with his little cousin. Look at his big fatty hands!

I doubt you're doing anything wrong - you know everything!
I agree with everyone - I just can't imagine a world where you, Lori, are not a beautiful, capable, wonderful Superwoman. That's probably because this world does not exist. Eric and I saw TJ & Holly the other night and we all commented on what an amazing mom you must be. You even had Christmas cards sent on time!
sqGive yourself a well-deserved pat on the back (or coerce Brandon into giving you a foot massage) and revel in the fact that you're awesome. Because you are!
Oh he is beautiful! Does he still have LIGHT blonde hair??
Yes, being a zombie mom is sooo normal. the only comfort I can give is that it your body learns to adjust--things don't "change", but you learn to cope. I'm sure you're well on your way to "recovery"! ; )
btw, explosive poop happens!
hope you're getting some sleep by now!
and also...the christmas card is so beautiful! i was just giddy to put it on my fridge!
